Hypoid-bevel-gear

Hyperboloid gear transmission is a gear transmission between interleaved shafts composed of two gears whose pitch surfaces are hyperboloid (hyperbolic surfaces of revolution).
It is very difficult to manufacture hyperboloid gears, and they are usually replaced by hypoid gears that are very close to the hyperboloid. The shape of this gear is very similar to spiral bevel gears. The meshing is gradual contact, and the operation is smooth. The axes of the two wheels are offset by a distance, the large and small gears are easy to support on both sides, and the gear teeth contact better. Hypoid gear transmission has a larger contact area and lower sliding speed, so the transmission efficiency is higher than that of helical gear transmission, and the wear is smaller. This type of gear transmission is mainly used in automobile rear axles

zerol gears

Zero-degree spiral bevel gear refers to a spiral bevel gear whose midpoint helix angle is zero degrees. It has curved teeth with the same direction as the straight bevel gear. This kind of gear is processed on a machine tool that processes ordinary spiral bevel gears (that is, arc-tooth bevel gears) whose midpoint helix angle is not zero. Therefore, like ordinary spiral bevel gears, it can have partial (point) contact teeth. This is where the zero-degree spiral bevel gear is superior to the general straight-tooth bevel gear. Zero-degree spiral bevel gears and straight-tooth bevel gears produce the same supporting load. Therefore, when their supports are the same, the two gear transmission pairs are interchangeable.
